University of Utah- Ear Nose and Throat

The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Utah provides outstanding care for patients, educates future otolaryngology physicians and are leaders of the field in both clinical practice and research.

They offer clinical services for our patients at the University of Utah hospital, the Hunstman Cancer Institute, Primary Children’s Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. A significant percentage of patients who seek treatment come from the surrounding 5-state region that includes Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, Montana and Idaho.

Many of our faculty hold leadership positions nationally and regionally and have been recognized in the list of The Best Doctors in America ®. The 2003-2004 list includes Drs. R. Kim Davis, Leland P. Johnson, Harlan R. Muntz, Clough Shelton and Marshall E. Smith. This consumer database polls thousands of leading specialists throughout the country who are asked what doctors they themselves would go to for treatment in their specialty.

Surgical Specialty Center

The Surgical Specialty Center offers specialized services from a number of physicians. These include otolaryngologists Dr. Marshall Smith (laryngology), Dr. Richard Orlandi (rhinology and sinus), and Dr. Steven Mobley (facial plastics).
